Cord Retainers

There are many cases of electrical cords that have to run across open areas where they can not be hidden. Hardwood floors are a good example of this type of situation. Lose cords pose a choking hazard to small children. You can keep these cords tight and the child from becoming entangled by securing the cords to baseboards and backs of furniture or walls. These devices were developed by the cable industry to keep cords bundled and tight. They have an adhesive back to stick them to surfaces. You may also screw them to a surface with small screws. A nylon tie is inserted through the device and around the cord. It is pulled tight and the excess tie cut off. When installed every two feet, they are almost invisible and will effectively keep the cord tight and out of child's reach. An added feature of these devices are the fact that if they are pulled from their attachment by the child, the entire device remains attached to the cord. Thus, there are no small pieces for the child to swallow.
